Knight-Hennessy Scholars 2027 at Stanford University (Fully Funded)
The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship 2027 is a fully funded graduate scholarship at Stanford University, run by the Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) program, a multidisciplinary, multicultural community of future leaders. Each scholar receives up to three years of financial support for graduate study at Stanford, along with a leadership program that runs alongside their degree. Between 2018 and 2026 the program welcomed 682 scholars from 85 countries, so it is truly international. What the scholarship covers - Up to three years of tuition, depending on the length of your degree - A stipend for living and academic expenses - A travel stipend for one annual round trip to and from Stanford - Leadership programming for up to three years, including workshops, lectures, projects and an annual retreat Who can apply The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship 2027 has no restrictions based on age, college or university, field of study or career aspiration, and it welcomes citizens and residents of all countries. You also do not need an endorsement from your university. There are two baseline requirements for the 2027 cohort: 1. You must apply to, be accepted by and enroll in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program, such as a DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS or PhD. You apply to KHS and to your Stanford program separately but at the same time. 2. You must have earned your first bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in January 2020 or later. Military veterans get two extra years. Current students are eligible if they will earn their first degree by September 2027. Some Stanford programs are not eligible, including the Master of Liberal Arts, the Master of Legal Studies, the JSD and coterminal degrees. Check the official list before you apply. What the selectors look for KHS looks for independence of thought, purposeful leadership and a civic mindset. Your application includes a resume, transcripts, short answers and an essay, and letters of recommendation. Deadlines for the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship 2027 - KHS application: 6 October 2026, 1:00 PM Pacific Time. That is 1:00 AM on 7 October in Pakistan. This date is the same for every applicant. - Stanford graduate program application: the earlier of your program's deadline for KHS applicants or 1 December 2026. If you apply after 1 December, you can still be admitted to your program but you cannot be considered for KHS. - MBA applicants must submit by the Round 1 deadline to stay eligible. KHS does not defer offers. If you are selected but cannot enroll that year, you must reapply. How to apply 1. Choose an eligible Stanford graduate program and confirm its KHS deadline with the department. 2. Create your account on the Knight-Hennessy online application portal. 3. Complete your resume, short answers, essay and upload your transcripts. 4. Ask your recommenders to submit their letters before the deadline. 5. Submit your separate Stanford graduate program application on time. A practical tip Do not treat the two applications as one. Applicants often finish the KHS form and then run out of time for the Stanford application. Start both at once, and check each program's own requirements, such as test scores and English proficiency, which are set by Stanford's graduate admissions office and not by KHS. Please confirm all dates and requirements for the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship 2027 on the official Knight-Hennessy Scholars website before you apply.
