Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarship 2027-28 at TU Delft

The Van Effen Excellence Scholarship, officially the Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships, is a prestigious award at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands for excellent international students who want to complete a two-year MSc programme. The scholarships are financed by the legacy of Justus and Louise van Effen, and they are aimed at outstanding applicants who are admitted to a regular TU Delft master's programme for the 2027-28 academic year, with courses starting in September 2027. What the Scholarship Covers The award includes full tuition fees for the whole two-year MSc programme, based on the statutory or institutional fee rate that applies to your registered nationality, plus a monthly living allowance for 24 months. The exact allowance is set in your scholarship contract. The scholarship runs for a maximum of 24 months and cannot be extended. Because the living allowance is a contribution rather than a full cost-of-living grant, the Van Effen Excellence Scholarship is listed here as partially funded, even though tuition is fully covered, so plan your remaining expenses in advance. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must be excellent international students who are admitted, or conditionally admitted, to one of TU Delft's two-year regular MSc programmes; Joint Education Programmes are not eligible. Candidates must have achieved excellent academic results in previous studies that are relevant to the chosen master's programme. As an indication of the level of competition, applicants are expected to be among the top 10 percent of graduates in their previous programme, although proof of ranking is not required. TU Delft bachelor's students are not eligible, even if they are international students. How to Apply You apply for the scholarship as part of your MSc application. Complete your online MSc application at TU Delft before the scholarship deadline, and check the admission requirements of your chosen programme first, including English language requirements. At the same time, upload the Scholarship Application Form and two reference letters, which can be combined in a single PDF. The letters can be written in English, French, German or Dutch, and one may come from an employer if you have work experience. Referees can also upload letters themselves after receiving an automatic invitation email from the application system. Reference letters will not be accepted after the deadline, so ask your referees early. Deadlines The deadline is 1 December 2026 at 23:59 CET, which is 3:59 AM on 2 December 2026 in Pakistan. Both your complete MSc application and all scholarship documents must be submitted by then, and late or incomplete applications are not considered. Because English test results and reference letters often take weeks to arrive, start preparing your file now rather than in the last week of November. Visit the official TU Delft scholarship page for the latest details and submit your complete application for the Van Effen Excellence Scholarship well before 1 December 2026.
