Warwick PGR Scholarships 2027 (Chancellor’s Scholarships) at University of Warwick
The Warwick PGR Scholarships are the University of Warwick's central doctoral funding competition, offering up to 80 awards across six streams for students starting a research degree in October 2027. You submit a single scholarship application and are automatically considered for every stream you are eligible for. Pakistani applicants can be considered for the Faculty Chancellors, Interdisciplinary Chancellors and AHRC Doctoral streams, which are open to any nationality or fee status. What the Scholarships Offer All Warwick PGR Scholarships include full payment of academic fees at the UK or international rate and a tax-free maintenance stipend to support living costs. The Chancellors and AHRC streams provide a stipend at the UKRI rate for 3.5 years and a £5,000 Research Training and Support Grant. Scholars also receive up to eight weeks of annual leave, paid leave for family and medical reasons, and additional support for disabled researchers. Eligible international scholars can also apply for support towards UK visa and immigration costs. Because tuition, living costs and a research grant are all covered, the Warwick PGR Scholarships are listed here as fully funded. Available Streams The Faculty Chancellors stream offers up to 30 awards and is open to applicants of any nationality or fee status. The Interdisciplinary Chancellors stream offers up to 12 awards for applicants who propose an interdisciplinary research project aligned with a Warwick Research Spotlight or Research Centre and who complete the Interdisciplinary Chancellors statement in the scholarship application. The AHRC Doctoral stream offers up to 3 awards for projects within the Arts and Humanities Research Council remit. Other streams are restricted: Doctoral Access Pathway is for applicants who self-identify as Black or of Black heritage, Doctoral Access Sanctuary is for people with specific UK asylum-related statuses, and the China Scholarship Council stream is for People's Republic of China passport holders. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must apply for an eligible Postgraduate Research course at Warwick that begins in October 2027, such as a PhD, MPhil/PhD, EngD or the PhD stage of a Masters+PhD course. They must start in academic year 2027/28, because scholarships cannot be deferred. Current postgraduate research students at Warwick are not eligible for the Chancellors and AHRC streams. How to Apply Applying is a two-step process. First, submit your course application for an eligible research degree by the course application deadline. You will then receive an automated email with a seven-digit applicant ID, which can take at least 48 hours to arrive. Next, register your ITS applicant account and submit your scholarship application, with any required supporting documents, through the Warwick scholarships portal. Warwick advises that a complete application usually cannot be finished in under 36 hours and that late applications are not accepted, so start preparing well in advance. Deadlines All deadlines are at 16:59 GMT, and late submissions are not accepted. The course application deadline is 7 December 2026 (9:59 PM in Pakistan), the scholarship application deadline is 10 December 2026 (9:59 PM in Pakistan), and references are due by 21 December 2026.
